Meeting Highlights Sept 20
 Greeter Magician Jerry Fohrman

Glen updated us on the plight of the 16 year old son of Valerie Jean Creek who was recently killed in a bicycle accident in Diamond Valley. His Big Brother, Matt West, has set up gofundme.com
/valerie-creek-memorial–fund for donations.  Shea Richland was Todd’s guest. She is coordinating a food recovery effort in the Prescott area.

Sgt. at Arms: Rod filled in at the last minute for “no show” Stewart and Jane Anne toted the pot. It was good to see Dennis Edwards who attended just in time to pay an anniversary buck. Ben Hansen still can’t find his badge and continues to suffer an identity crisis. Lots of just happy and glad to be here bucks were collected for a total haul of $131. A.J. won the pot and donated it back to the club.

Our Speaker: Billie introduced Jim Robb, Chairman of the Robb Group, who is consulting for the City of Prescott on future economic development opportunities. Jim gave a rousing presentation of his vision of the growth opportunities for the Prescott area while maintaining our well known charm and culture and providing local opportunities for our younger generation. His vision focused on three major technology development efforts. First is developing Prescott as a major Technology Hub within the Southwest Region. This can be accomplished by promoting increased public/private sector collaboration, delivering business development assistance that secures new technology and business investments and facilitates quality job growth.

Second is development of a Technology Innovation Center. This will leverage existing technology inventions and product development capabilities from local Universities and businesses and will help incubate and launch new technology products, services, and businesses.

Third is developing a Security Operations Center by building on the success of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s College of Security and Intelligence. The Security Operations center will be one of the first businesses to incubate within the Technology Innovation Center and will create dozens of new high paying jobs within the region.
Casino Night - Committee Meeting

Change
“Rotary founder Paul Harris said in 1909 that if Rotary was to survive it must change faster than change itself.”

Happy Monday my fellow Sunupian Crew!

Some days I do feel like I am literally in a corner! But it doesn't last long! Especially once I get to Wednesday and this great crowd! It's tough sometimes hanging out at the bottom of the pyramid. Lots of you have been there I know.

Evenings in the past week  have been spent trying to watch the Burns and company Vietnam documentary. What a great job his team does on these projects. It has been quite a trip through old memories and some interesting Ah-Has. They were certainly "interesting times" as some would say. But that is why I like the study of history so much.  I hope that y'all were able to catch it, or record it to watch as you can. I did and plan to review it again.

We had another rollickin' Board of Directors meeting on Thursday so watch for the minutes. As of Friday we are reviewing them and will post once they are accepted via email.  We did decide to keep the bulletin as is for now and continue to run it concurrently with CR. So we can all stand down from the rumor mill and relax a little.

All for now!
Peace Friends!
A.J.
