Who says that being President of this club is challenging, in spite of all the kidding about "How is it going" it is actually fun. 'Nough said there.
So we received our Friendship Cactus Trophy from Kevin Pitts last meeting and we have two weeks to make the pass to the Chino Valley club. So I am inviting any members who are available on Wednesday September 6 at 11:00 AM, to join me in going to (i.e. car pooling to) the CV Club meeting at the Chamber of Commerce office up there to pass the cactus and get a picture of us all doing it. They start at 11:30 AM They bring their own lunches. So, If we have enough folks, I will get a "Super Sized Sub" for our lunch. So reservations are expected. Let me know.
Be prepared to welcome Nancy Van Pelt, District Governor and Noel DeSousa, ADG who will do the introduction. Should we show our spirit and make it Hawiian Shirt Day! Lets!
I look forward to meeting with you each and every week for my remaining year!
For anyone who was watching on TV the presidents rally in Phoenix last week you may have recognized a fellow Sunupian in the audience. Yes, we thought it might be worth mentioning that Phil Goode, candidate for Prescott City Counsel, somehow weaseled his way on stage and right behind the president. When we asked later how he managed that he confessed he was just nosing around before the event and managed to get on stage to check things out. When a security officer approached Phil it startled him when he was asked what he was doing behind the presidents podium. Phil just blurted out that he was the presidents “media relations advisor.” The security officer said, “oh! I see you found your seat.” I guess you know now why the red lights were turned off! - editor

Michael Pantalione enters his 29th year in 2017 as Yavapai’s first and only head soccer coach. Under his direction, Yavapai developed the most successful Junior College soccer program in the nation, capturing 74 championships including seven national championships, 18 final four finishes, a combined 41 region and district championships along with 26 conference titles. He currently has the best winning percentage of any collegiate men’s soccer coach (593-54-27/.900) and is the all-time leader in JUCO wins (593).
