This prestigious award is accorded to Past District Governors who have had the most profound impact on our District and Rotary International, as well as providing outstanding mentoring to those Rotarians who went on to become distinguished leaders themselves. Congratulations Art! We are very proud of you!"
Thank you Guest Speaker President Richard Hernandez
Richard Introduced his new board:
Clent Walker, Past President & Surf President; Bud Ackerman, President Elect; Laura Vanderberg, Secretary; Sharon Herrington, Treasurer; Donna Jacobs, Club Service Director; Linda Mast, Vocational Service Director; Christy Manning, Community Service Director; Jerry Hulm, International Service Director; Jon Berry, Youth Services Director; As well as a new role in the club this year: Lisa DeLeo, Community Publicity & Social Media Branding.
He invited all members to join in and participate in the committees.
Richard shared three goals for the year:
#1 Goal – Do more at home, focus energies on local projects using the concept A.L.I.C.E. below.
#2 Goal – Grow a younger more diverse membership through the energy of youth.
#3 Goal – Fundraising and Having Fun.
Richard introduced the concept: “Meet Alice” and explained that the acronym: A.L.I.C.E is a United Way concept that stands for: Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed.
The site: www.unitedforalice.org describes it as: "a new way of defining and understanding the struggles of households that earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford a bare-bones household budget."
Richard presented that according to the U.S. Census Bureau report from 2013-2017: "1 in 4 Yavapai County Residents lives in near poverty." He challenged Rotary to actively promote fundraising internally and externally to "Do More At Home."

We are off and running and so far no COVID to hold us back. Of course, we will closely monitor the situation and adjust if necessary. At least for right now, we are meeting in person and I for one love it!
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me feedback from Wednesday's assembly. Some great ideas are brewing.
I also wanted to say thank you to all those who have stepped up to help lead. Trust me when I say you will get more than you give.
That said we still have one or two committee chair slots open. Come on step out of your comfort zone, you won’t be alone, there is lots of seasoned help available to help you grow into it!
Ok, that’s all for now. Enjoy your week.
I look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday morning.
