Meeting Highlights April 7th

Thought of the day: Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it but only you can feel its warmth. Thanks to Bud Ackerman.

Make sure to buy your tickets for Double Down, and sell as many as you can! We need more silent auction and basket items too. Let’s make this event a great time, and one for the record books!

Remember to bring in the signs and menu board if you close snack shack!
Sgt. At arms Rod Cordes fined everyone a dollar for the mystery IOU. Happy bucks were expedited to give our speaker plenty of time. Val Ripley and Greg Raskin commended Jane Anne for her hard work on Double Down, and reminded all to support the Double Down casino night coming up soon!

Last week’s speaker: A fantastic speaker - Dr. Sobotta has a PHD in public administration, and an MBA in Aviation. She is the Prescott regional airport director since May of 2017. She gave her own happy buck for a 98% load factor to Denver!  Fares from our airport are quite reasonable at $60 to LA, and $80 to Denver – with over 400 connection options available.

Our airport has changed and grown drastically due to careful strategic planning. The plan, adopted in 2014, involved three main goals.
  1. Long term tenancy from the US Forest Service
  2. Looking at replacing the terminal
  3. Lengthening the runway to 10,000-11,000 feet
Due to the hard work and planning of all involved, our airport is now entitled to $1m in federal monies every year. We also have been awarded $20 million for terminal and runway improvements because of the efforts to achieve 10,000 enplanements in 2018. Our airport has shown enough volume for the Fed to support expansion! All federal funds directly benefit Prescott and surrounding areas by improving this important resource.  Did you know? Prescott is busier than Dallas/Love field, with over 200,000 operations per year!
3rd Annual Double Down Casino Night
Don't Miss Sunup Rotary's Third Annual
Double Down Casino Night
It's coming to the Prescott Rodeo Grounds once again on May 11th, 2019. Casino Night is a fund raiser for all three Rotary clubs in Prescott. In the past we have supported Big Brothers, Big Sisters and YEI. All money raised goes to various local and Rotary charities. in Prescott. Black Jack, Roulette & Craps Tables have been expanded this year for more fun. The Great, Great nephew of Wyatt Earp will be on hand and you may have your picture taken with him. Our silent auction is one of the best in Prescott. Use your chips to win one of many raffle prizes.

Good morning Sun-upians … Big shoes and many feet … This is a shout out to the many Sun-upians who have stepped up to fill in for the work left behind by Ben .. Thanks especially to Eric Chester, Bud Ackerman, Dan Davis, and Sharon Harrington.  Thanks also to Todd Clancy for taking on the Snack Shack duties ….
Casino Nite will been upon us very soon, so let’s get those tickets sold … and be thinking about themed raffle prizes that can be contributed to the effort … Carpe Diem!
