About Us - Bronze Smith Fine Art Foundry & Gallery

Thank you Guest Kathy Murphy Reilly of Bronzesmith Fine Art Foundry & Gallery

Written by Jane Anne Shimizu

Kathy Murphy Reilly has been a resident of Prescott for the past 49 years.  After a career in the restaurant business with her family, she married, had wonderful twin boys and decided to go to work with her husband at Bronzesmith Fine Art Foundry and Gallery at 7331 E 2nd St, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314

Bronzesmith is responsible for many of the local public art monuments and she gave an explanation of the bronze casting process as well as explain how to make a 15 inch sculpture into a 14 foot monument.

She explained how bronzes are made with a lost wax casting from a Ingot that is 94% copper as bronze is mostly copper.  Bronze casting has been around for over 6000 years.

Bronzesmith Fine Art Foundry and Gallery has been creating limited edition bronze castings in Prescott Valley since 1991.

Their building at 7331 E 2nd St, Prescott Valley, was erected specifically for bronze casting and includes a central corridor for tours, a gallery and sculpture garden. They are fortunate to work with some of the country’s top sculptors.

Bronzesmith’s quality is a result of many years of hard work and dedication and has been a leader in the bronze casting field.

Each Thursday at 11:00 am we have a foundry tour that educates you about the lost wax process of bronze casting. Fun and informative! The cost is $10 per person. Please reserve your spot ahead of time. Individuals and small groups welcome!

Welcome to Prescott!

The Welcome to Prescott sign on SR 89S has finally been replaced to match the one that Frontier Rotary took the lead on and the three Prescott Rotary clubs paid for on SR89N at Watson Lake turnout.  Marty Coleman, Bob Keys and A.J. Sheridan installed the new polycarbonate overlay sign on Saturday 3/11.23.

It was placed over top of the original wood sign which was out of date.

Sign was made by A&B Sign in Prescott. It was paid for by the three Prescott Rotary clubs. Great work!

Double Down Casino Night Update

Let's sell tickets and get donations

Jane Anne suggested that when people ask for donations they lead with the amazing scholarships we gave last year- $18,000 worth, and that we want to raise $35,000 this year!

Please have donors fill out the form, and get it back to us.  Also- very important!  Jane Anne reminded everyone that you actually have to collect the donation, in whatever form!

The donation or sponsorship isn't complete without the money or item in hand!

Saturday, June 17th  5p-9p at the Prescott Vibes Event Center.

Located at: 6200 North Rt. 89, Prescott (near the Prescott Airport)

Contact Jane Anne Shimizu928-636-4565 Ext. 4 or jashimizu@gunsite.com

Club members will be going out to the other Prescott Rotary Clubs to share information about DD and sell tickets.

Club members will be selling hard copy tickets, and for the internet/Square- savvy amongst us, you can also buy tickets by going to our website and clicking on the Double Down logo.

OR GO TO: https://sunup-double-down.square.site/

We need dealers for our 21 tables. Celebrity dealers and Prescott Residents encouraged.

Remember, our ability to offer scholarships is directly related to our success with Double Down.  The more donors, the more money raised, the more scholarships we're able to give to deserving graduating seniors- for both college and vocational schools.

Rotarians are flexible, adaptable doers. Why is that?

Because the world, and our local communities, are always changing.

For us to be difference makers, we have to find those challenges that are current and relevant, and figure out how to help- in a way that works for us.

That’s part of our process as we re-look our SunUp Community Service projects and talk about new opportunities for the coming year.

It’s a club discussion- one that started during our morning meetings and will continue with this month’s President’s Choice meeting on March 15th.

We are excited to welcome 3 new members into our midst on Wednesday!

Marty Coleman, Stella Ortiz and Lisa Doherty will all be inducted at this week’s meeting. Please join me in welcoming these SunUpians!

I’ll wrap up with a big thank you for being adaptable doers!

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” – Henry Ford
