Meeting Highlights: Thought for the day by Glen Hammond:  The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
Announced Guests: Scholorship recipient Phoebe Dunn, her mom Janice and friend Aaron, Jim Clemens and James Huffman. Pres Jerry presented outgoing Pres Neal with a plaque for his service as President. Art presented Barbara Oemcke and Jerry Hulm with Paul Harris awards.
 
Sgt. At Arms Gus Bergman levied fines for no pins or badges. Lots of happy bucks and a sad buck from Jane Anne for showing up on the 3rd. Left over baskets from the Double Down were successfuly raffled off. Val carried the spitoon and Bruce won the pot.
 
Last week’s Club Assembly: All committee chairs gave reports on current and future projects benefitting the local and international communities. The various duties of the Club Service committee were outlined. Membership committee goals, including ways to retain current members and  recruitment of new members were discussed. The Youth services chair spoke on the outbound and inbound Rotary Youth Exchange program, Rotary Youth leadership Award (RYLA) and the many other youth projects Sunup Rotary supports. The communications committee will inform the public through the various forms of the media about the clubs local, international projects, and donations. The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona, funded by Rotary  International, provides funds to certified employers to train eligible individuals in various trades.

Good Morning  Sunupians,
 
After listening to the committee chairs at the  last meeting I believe we have some excellent projects, and a fun year ahead of us. I look forward to everyone's participation in these events and the comaraderie that is Sunup Rotary. Next week we have DG David Simmer speaking to us, I look forward to hearing what he has to say.
