The New Member Celebration last Thursday evening was a huge success with more the 40 members and spouses attending. Many thanks for the efforts of Linda Mast and Laura Vanderberg, new members themselves, for putting on a great event.  It was also great to see Tony Shaw in attendance.
Art Harrington - Please support our club member's support of the PHS Interact Chub's Chipotle fundraising project on next Wednesday, May 26, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.?
The fundraiser is being held at Chipotle's 351 N. Montezuma Street, Suite B location in the Depot Marketplace here in Prescott.   Using the 7N8YE77 promo code, orders can be placed on or through the Chipotle app for pickup, or supporters can order in the restaurant, bringing a copy of the promotional flyer that I have attached.  33% of the proceeds during this 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. will go to the PHS Interact club, and will help support the Interact Crutches 4 Africa Project, including sending the Interact Ambassadors to Kenya and Central Mexico in July.

AJ introduced Lt Col (Ret) Bill DeKemper with the Prescott  AFJRROTC
Bill explained that the JRROTC is not an ROTC as it is not designed to get kids in the military but its designed to get them ready for life.  There is no military requirement and only 5 % go into the military.  JRROTC consists of the following components: academic, athletic, leadership skills, making good choices, speaking skills, mastering job resumes & interviews.  The program is sponsored by the Air Force and there are 3-4k around the country.
Callie was introduced.  She is a Junior and will be a pilot soon.  She started the program 3 years ago and is a Commander.  She is looking at going into the AF Academy and is currently working on the extenuating application process.

Greetings my friends and fellow Sunupians, I hope you had a great weekend and that your week is off to a great start. It was wonderful to see those of you that came out to welcome and celebrate all of our new members. Even though it seems that we are winding down on another Rotary year, remember our work is far from over. I look forward to a new year of helping to make Sun Up Rotary even better.
