Speaker from 1/22: Craig Dotseth, City of Prescott public works director

Craig Dotseth, a 23-year employee of the City of Prescott, is the City’s Public Works Director. He has been director for two years now. Dotseth was promoted to the position, having previously served as the City’s Utilities Manager. Dotseth has over 33 years of public works experience, and has served in various positions for the City of Prescott during his tenure.  “During the transition in the Public Works Department, Craig emerged as a leader with an in-depth understanding of this very complex multi-faceted department,” said City Manager Michael Lamar. In his role, Dotseth oversees a department of over 150 employees, with responsibility for Street Maintenance , Utilities, Solid Waste, Engineering and Project Management.
Craig talked about current City public works projects, including over 63 current street, drainage, and water projects.
Some highlights were the Corsair avenue extension, Goodwin/McCormick street reconstruction, Overland Trail Bridge, pavement preservation, Willow Creek drainage improvement, floodplain mapping, and important water distribution projects.
TMDL Watson and Willow lakes enhancement program was discussed as well, with the City’s ideas for providing cleaner water to the lakes through enhanced runoff management. All in all, an edge-of-your-seat speaker! Our club had many pointed questions for Craig, including how to get our name on the list of pothole repairs 😊
