Meeting Highlights Jan 9th
Great Extractions:  Our mystery Sarge was MIA; and returning member Matt Greenlee volunteered to be Sarge and enlisted Jane Anne Shimizu to tote the spittoon.  We all paid a buck to welcome Matt back. Matt Glen, the Smiths, and Jane Anne did not pay attention to the notices in bulletin, etc. and showed up on Jan. 2nd, a dark day.  Sharon paid for Art's skill driving in the snow on I-40.  Bud sold a plane and made good contributions to the club for his 4th grandchild, a  grandson, and a PHF in his grandson's name.  Jerry for warm welcome in sitting by himself, like Rodney Dangerfield.  Phil for his 2 yr old snow blower and had no gas.  I missed some of you, sorry.
Reach out to Gabriel  Ray reminded us to contact Bob Betts and invite Gabriel to your house, diner, show, etc.   Art & Sharon  entertained him and hired him to help take down their Christmas lights.  The Smiths scheduled him after the meeting.

Our own member, Councilman Phil Goode gave one of the better updates on city action.  2018 achievements included a new air service Sky West dba United Express. With 10,000 enplanements the City receives FAA subsidies of $1M, plus chances for up to $20 M for new terminal.  Helped shape state takeover of Sober Living Homes. Road & utilities improvements are getting done and authorized budget is being spent.  Phil has expressed feeling we should do improvements on roads and sewer & water from the down square out.  He feels we need a more moderate growth rate and water resource management is a good tool.  He touched on Granite Dells and possibility City can negotiate more open area with the negotiations on the developer's other eventual projects.  Greg R. questioned him on the proposed Hilton Garden Inn at Sheldon and Montezuma and there is a lot of negations going on, and it has benefits for the city and the Granite Creek corridor
Welcome Bill Schwabe:.  Membership chair Bud Ackerman introduced our newest member, Bill Schwabe.  His classification is Public Policy Consultant.  He worked in the Naval reserve and 20 years for Rand research.  He and his wife have lived in Prescott for 10 years.  They have bought a condo in CA near kids and will spend a couple trips there each year.

Good morning Sun-Upians …. Earlier this week, Dennis Light shared a message from Tony S. concerning the status of his treatments; a very positive outlook and the high probability of a complete cure.  This is most heartening, and I think I speak for all of us in wishing Tony all our best, and God grant you the strength to see this trial through to a good conclusion.  You stay in our thoughts and prayers .

“Give us grace and strength to forbear and to persevere. Give us courage and gaiety and the quiet mind, spare to us our friends, soften to us our enemies.”  Robert Louis Stevenson
