PRESIDENT'S CHOICE

On this President's Choice program, Sunup President Laura Vanderberg led the group in playing "Guess Who?"

Club members provided pictures of themselves as children or teens and the group got to guess who was who.

We collectively scored the guesses, and voted for some "People's Choice Awards".

Laura will announce winners of "Guess Who" and the "People's Choice Awards" at our next meeting on November 30th.

Laura also introduced the Club's draft "Why".  Glen will do some additional wordsmithing on the phrase that captures the feeling of SunUp Rotary.

We've been working on uncovering our "Why" since earlier this fall with different activities at the President's Choice meetings.

The "Why" is how our new members will find us, and choose to stay with us.

It's how we, as Rotarians, remember why we joined the Club, and why we stay.  Our "Why" also serves as a guidepost by which we choose to do what we do, as a club, as individuals, as community leaders.

And finally, Laura and Richard shared the Club's website with the group.  Some of us visit this place regularly, some of us not so much, and some of us maybe never.  So if you haven't been in a while, please check it out!  SUN UP ROTARY

Clent Walker has done an amazing job updating the website!

We've also incorporated the links to sign up for breakfast (thank you Richard for coding it!), square links for paying dues and making donations to the SunUp Foundation electronically (thank you John Scholl for setting those up!) and thank you Richard and John for coding and setting up the Foundation Check Request form for reimbursements.

The website is also how you get to ClubRunner, which is where all things Rotary, especially SunUp Rotary, live electronically.

This includes the Member Directory and documents/information about most anything you'd ever want to know!

You have to have your User Name and Password to log into the Member's Area of Club Runner where all this great information resides.

If you don't have that information, please reach out to Richard or myself and we'll get you going.

Laura closed the meeting by wishing everyone a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving!

Interact Blood Drive Tuesday, December 6th

Interact Club Advisor for Prescott High School Cathleen Cherry says:   "We are hoping to have 100 successful donations this time around!  Please share with your networks, in newsletters, on social media, etc., as well as with the other local Rotary Clubs.  Thank you so much for your help in saving lives!"

Art Harrington adds:  This Vitalant blood drive is a collaborative effort between JROTC and our PHS Interact Club — and it is directly connected to our Interact District's 2nd Annual Virtual Blood Drive, from Nov. 23 - Jan. 7.

Its purpose is to recruit blood donors to help save lives here in Arizona during the Holidays period, when blood is in such demand, but is in critically-short supply.

Vitalant supplies 100% of the blood used in the hospitals in Maricopa County, and over 90% of the blood used in the rest of the hospitals in Arizona.

The American Red Cross blood donations are primarily sent and used outside Arizona.

During the Interact District's Virtual Blood Drive there is also a contest between the Interact clubs, to see which club can recruit the most blood donations during this Holidays period of time.

When a potential donor scans the QR code on this flyer, it automatically connects the donation they may make to our PHS Interact Club's account with Vitalant.

Last year, our PHS Interact Club was the winner of this contest.

What does the winning club get?  That club gets free registrations for as many of their members as they want to take to our Interact District Conference, being held this year at the Barry Goldwater High School in Phoenix on Saturday. Feb. 25.  The conference registration cost is $30 per person.

By signing up to donate blood at Prescott High School on December 6, our members, along with their friends and family, will be both saving lives here in Arizona during the Holidays, and they will also be supporting our PHS Interact Club in their efforts to once again win this district-wide Interact Virtual Blood Drive contest.
