This years’ topic is Sickness and Health. Competing teams consist of students in 3 separate GPA categories. A team must have a minimum of 2 students per GPA categories to compete. Students compete against their own categories in 7 tests: math, science, economics, social science, literature, music and art and in 3 subjective events: speech, interview and essay. Students have one minute to prepare and one minute to practice as a team. At the end of the competition a Super Quiz is held. Each school sends up a team by GPA category. Questions are read aloud and each team must come to a consensus and will earn extra points. This is the only event open to parents and the public. The regional competition will be held in Snowflake, AZ on Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 The state competition will be held on March 6 and 7 at Hamilton High School in Chandler AZ.

Rotary Saves a Home
This past Saturday several members from Sunup Rotary and Prescott Rotary joined to help an elderly couple save their house. The county had deemed their house to be unsafe with too much over growth and debris hidden in the foliage. The disabled couple were within days of being fined up to $700 per day if not cleared. Rotary attacked and by mid afternoon several trailer loads were taken to the transfer station and the job was done. Thanks to Todd Clancy for organizing, Greg Barstad for trailers and trucks, Jerry Fohrman for excellent supervision of lunch, Also AJ Sheridan, Jerry Hulm, Bud Ackerman Par Wood, Barbara Oemcke, Terry & Teri Smith, Jim Huffman, ERAU students and many others. Job was well done and home owners were delighted and very thankful.

Good Morning Sunupians,

-- It is hard to believe that fall is almost upon us, and the holidays are coming soon. It was sad to see Rusty leave, he had been a valuable asset to Sun up Rotary. With that in mind we need to make it a point to recruit new members when ever possible. I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday morning.

Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do. Bruce Lee
