The Team also visited six schools. They met with Interact Clubs, delivered school supplies, planted trees, served food, sat in on lessons, and learned about local projects. In Talek, they enjoyed local wildlife, met with the Massai Tribe. The Rotary Water towner make clean water accessible in Talek.

Great job Team!  Thank you to Rotary for providing this incredible experience proving our vision "together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Meeting Notes

Written by Laura Vanderberg. Edited by Lisa DeLeo.

Laura Vanderberg kicked it off with a joke! Knock Knock. Who's there?  Olive. Olive who? Olive that you are all here this morning!

Laura asked everyone to turn over their placemats and give her a letter grade on her first 30 days as president. She invited people to also add comments. The placemats were collected and given to her afterward so grades and comments were anonymous. Have you reserved your spot on the new placemat? Contact Laura to create an ad and support the club.

Art Harrington's brother Tom Harrington serenaded the club.

Jerry Fohrman led us in "Home on the Range"

Sometimes it’s fun to just write about something wacky...

I happen to be a big fan of, well, odd-ball holidays, so I thought I’d share an upcoming one.  Everyone can participate!

Are you ready for it?  Saturday, August 6th is…National Wiggle Your Toes Day!

Yep, you read that right.  It’s actually a National Holiday!

The origin of this obscure holiday seems to be unknown, but it’s celebrated every year on August 6th

To participate in this exciting holiday, all you have to do is bare those tootsies and give them a wiggle!

And if you’re feeling really froggy, you could wear sandals and wiggle your toes multiple times during the day.  Heck, you can wiggle your toes inside your shoes if you’re not a barefoot kind of person!

Below is a short, fun-fact timeline of toe trivia from Nationaltoday.com.  You never know when these bits of knowledge might come in handy!

Make it a great week and don’t forget to wiggle those toes on Saturday!

Warmest Regards,

Laura Vanderberg

President
