What's Happening

Thank you to Michael McCormack, CEO of CP Technologies

Thank you to Michael McCormack for an informative and inspiring presentation on CP Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of standard and custom rugged computer hardware, data links, and LCD displays for the aviation, military, industrial and commercial markets. The newly constructed CP North American headquarters opened at 2620 Deep Well Ranch Rd. in Prescott, Arizona in June, 2021. The 50,000 square-foot facility is home to the CP North America family of brands including CP Technologies, CP Aeronautics and CP Systems

CP Technologies is dedicated to the continued development of Prescott’s business and technology community. The company has already joined forces with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Yavapai College to foster an innovative ecosystem and plans to leverage the impressive talent produced by these educational institutions in its hiring efforts. CP Technologies’ goal is to bring an additional 200 jobs to the area over the next four years.

CP Technologies designs, fabricates and integrates standard and custom high-performance computing platforms, data links, and LCD displays for military, industrial, and commercial markets.

CP Aeronautics leads an industry group focused on unmanned solutions, systems and subsystems, CP Aeronautics provides integrated turnkey solutions based on unmanned systems platforms, payloads and communications for defense and civil applications. Designed as leading-edge UAS-based solutions, CP Aeronautics’ systems offer operationally proven solutions for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems requirements

CP Systems has over two decades of experience in building custom and rugged computing solutions for industrial and commercial applications. Their systems have been used in everything from managing train networks and roller coasters to handling data in marine research vessels. We can provide solutions as both discrete systems as well as major components in a variety of form factors, such as rackmount computers and displays, desktop options, transportable data storage units, and more.

Prescott Native, CEO McCormack says: "We are proud to be a part of the outstanding technology and business community here in Arizona and are grateful for all the support we've received. The opening of this facility marks a major milestone for the CP brand and provides the needed expansion of our capabilities as a manufacturer to serve our customers worldwide."

The Harrington Brothers

Thank you to Art and Tom Harrington for a lively performance of "Feeling Mighty Fine" by composer Mosie Lister, in the "Southern Gospel" style of music. Tom was in town to perform at the Singspiration by the Lake event.  For the past 4 years Art has been leading free, informal Christian sing-along gatherings once-a-month, usually on the 4th Wednesday evening of each month during each summer.  They are held at one of the picnic ramadas on the south shore of Lynx Lake.  Art has a talented instrumental combo that accompanies the singing, consisting of acoustic guitar, harmonica, mandolin and string bass, along with my occasional violin participation.  For more info contact Art: artts@msn.com

The Harrington Brothers don't usually sing a Capella, or this early in the morning, but thought our Rotarians might like to hear a sample of the kind of music they have performed over the years. And we certainly did!

Stepping Stones Agencies

Thank you for supporting Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones provides advocacy and safe shelter to adults and children affected by domestic violence.  Christy Manning thanked everyone for the generous donations of detergents, towels, and financial aid. Special thanks to Todd Clancy for collecting and delivering it all to Stepping Stones.

Rotary Club Coalition: Yavapai County TRVFA Scholarship Committee

Last meeting, Art Harrington announced the Yavapai County TRVFA Scholarship Committee, which will be a coalition of the seven Rotary Clubs in Yavapai County, the Yavapai College CTEC Program (with its 8 centers), and The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona (TRVFA).

We are creating a new model for awarding scholarships, which will enable our Rotary Clubs to utilize, with qualifying recipients in this county, some of the dollars that are being contributed to our statewide Rotary Vocational Fund.  Each of the participating Rotary Clubs will have a representative member of this Yavapai CO TRVFA Scholarship Committee.

Hello fellow Sunupians,

Have I told you recently how much I love hanging out with you on Wednesday mornings?  Well, if I haven't, let me say it here:  Sunup Rotarians ROCK!!

When I joined Rotary, I thought it might require a little work. No one told me it would be this much fun!

I've started to realize why Rotary has been around 116 years.  It's because of people like you. People who are committed, trustworthy, and just plain. fun.

I can't wait for Wednesday!

Later,

Richard
