Thank you to Larry Stephens for all of his hard work in keeping Prescott clean. Removing "tags" (a graffiti term for spray painting a stylized signature) is no easy work, especially when it defaces our natural landscapes.
Taken from Prescott Parks and Recreation Department website: Help the Graffiti Removal Detail by reporting graffiti you see. Call our Graffiti Hotline (928-777-1562). Leave a detailed message and return phone number including the address/location and a brief description of the graffiti in your report.
We have a reputation of cleaning graffiti quickly, letting vandals know it is not tolerated here. Whether it is a small utility box, light pole, or a large wall, the time you take to report graffiti is very much appreciated. Thank you for helping to keep our beautiful City clean.
A Time of Giving
Written by Todd Clancy
It was another compassionate and giving Christmas season for Prescott Sunup! Thank you so much to all the volunteers who came out to stand on the street corner and ring the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle. Our club brought in at least $1,700 that will go directly to those in need.
We are grateful to Matt Greenlee who donated his time and expertise to repair the damaged picnic tables at the Prescott Area Shelter Services. This is the only communal area at the shelter and now they can enjoy the holidays.
This year’s generous budget allowed our club to rescue Christmas for three families in the Salvation Army Adopt-a-Family for Christmas. Every year our club provides families in-need with presents, stuffed stockings, gift cards for necessities, and a full Christmas dinner. These families are going to have an awesome Christmas!
Christy Manning became aware of two children who were experiencing devastating circumstances. They desperately missed their bikes the most and our club immediately went to work and provided the kids with two brand new bikes (see photo above.)
Finally, Christy delivered to the Salvation Army the large donation of toys donated at our club’s Christmas dinner. These toys go into a ‘store’ where parents are able to pick out a few toys to give their children a Christmas they would not have otherwise.
Well done Sunup!!!

Interact District 5495 Blood Drive
Written by Art Harrington
Our Prescott High Interact was the first club in our district to sign up to help make our first-ever Interact Virtual Blood Drive a success.
The club's flyer includes both a link and a QR code to use to sign up to donate blood to help save lives during the holidays.
By using that link or code to pledge blood and schedule an appointment at one of the dates and locations in this area, credit is given to our PHS Interact Club.
The Interact club which recruits the most donors before January 7th will receive free registration for all of its members to our Interact District Conference at Centennial High School in Peoria on February 26th. Help make a difference!

It's that time of year again when Rotarians from the three Prescott Area Rotary clubs are asked to assist with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program.
Please volunteer your pickup or large SUV at RYLA (or as a driver of someone else's pickup/SUV) on the morning of January 15 or 16, 2022 (Sat or Sun) to transport delegates from the main camp area through the woods to the high Ropes course (about a half mile). 2.5-hour shifts are available: 7:00-9:30 and/or 9:30-noon.
Camp Pine Rock - right here in Prescott, will again be the site for RYLA, which will again be held over the Martin Luther King weekend, Friday to Monday, January 14-17, 2022. Individual members from the clubs in our Area have traditionally provided this simple, yet integral service for the RYLA delegates.
Here's how to get involved:
1. Contact noel.j.desousa.gmail.com@clubrunner.email indicating that you would like to serve and your day and time preference. Having your own pickup or LARGE SUV is recommended, but we have a couple available for you to drive if needed.
2. Register as a volunteer at RYLA 5495pinerock.org You will be required to upload a picture of yourself in the registration form and a copy of your Covid vaccination card within the Health form. An email acknowledging your successful registration will immediately be sent to you.
3. Within a few days you will receive an additional email asking that you fill out a background check form. This is required for all RYLA volunteers every year. Among other information, you will need to fill in your Social Security number on the form.
Thank you for providing this service to our Rotary community and our RYLA delegates.

Prescott Area Shelter Services (PASS) is an organization that SunUp Rotary support them with monthly meals (1st Monday of the month). Here's another great opportunity to support them!
Happy Holidays PASS Friends and Volunteers,
We want to thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do to support Prescott Area Shelter Services and women and children in need.
As we look back over the past year we are so grateful for the support that has allowed us to continue to expand our programs, as well as update and improve the safety of our shelter through Project Restore.
Founded in 2009, we have served over 2800 women and children and provided over 80,000 bed nights. In 2021 we continued to grow our supportive programs at PASS by purchasing a transitional house as we expand our Transitional Housing Program, as well as starting our Smile with Confidence Program to support dental procedures, and starting our Children's Program that entails a teacher coming to the shelter two evenings a week.
We have also started a Therapy Dog Program, initiated recovery meetings at the shelter, and worked to improve our pre-existing support programs that include our Wheels to Work Program, Education to Employability, Case Management, the Homeless Transition Project and Operation Deep Freeze/Warm for Winter that allows for overflow shelter when the temperature drops below 35 degrees at night.
At PASS, we take HOPE seriously and BELIEVE in the innate worth of every human being. We cannot express our appreciation enough for the support you give through your time, donations, expertise, projects and so much more. YOU allow us to stay open to serve this vulnerable community!
Please consider us for your 2021 tax credit contribution, you can donate HERE!
Arizona taxpayers can claim the Tax Credit for the Working Poor of $400 individual and $800 per couple, in addition to donating to schools and the Foster Care System.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Carmen Frederic Executive Director
