Thank you Guest Speaker Laura Vanderberg, Ph.D., PCC
Laura Vanderberg, Chief Scientist of Newton Services, LLC. presented "Generational Nuances in Today's World." She explained that today's business environment has volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, and that means that business as usual won't work.
She explained how everyone from traditionalists to Gen Z have perspectives formed by parents, current events during their younger years, and how they may be motivated at work. Her slides gave some tips for employers when working with people of different generations.
Laura talked about The Great Resignation, with 3% of the US workforce having quit their jobs in August 2021 and how people's reasons for quitting are varied, the ages of the employees are all different and the sectors affected are all different. Given that we don't have data way back to analyze what might be happening, she said there's still more to come on this topic.
Laura offered valuable ways employers can work to retain talent. She also touched on burnout, which the World Health Organization has officially recognized. She explained that burnout has always been around, but it's gotten more awareness during the pandemic and continues to be an important topic. She gave some ideas about how people and organizations can begin to minimize its occurrence.

Interact District 5495 Blood Drive
Written by Art Harrington
Our Prescott High Interact was the first club in our district to sign up to help make our first-ever Interact Virtual Blood Drive a success.
The club's flyer includes both a link and a QR code to use to sign up to donate blood to help save lives during the holidays. By using that link or code to pledge blood and schedule an appointment at one of the dates and locations in this area, credit is given to our PHS Interact Club.
The Interact club which recruits the most donors between Nov, 24 and Jn. 7 will receive free registration for all of its members to our Interact District Conference at Centennial High School in Peoria on Feb. 26. Help make a difference!

It's that time of year again when Rotarians from the three Prescott Area Rotary clubs are asked to assist with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program.
Please volunteer your pickup or large SUV at RYLA (or as a driver of someone else's pickup/SUV) on the morning of January 15 or 16, 2022 (Sat or Sun) to transport delegates from the main camp area through the woods to the high Ropes course (about a half mile). 2.5-hour shifts are available: 7:00-9:30 and/or 9:30-noon.
Camp Pine Rock - right here in Prescott, will again be the site for RYLA, which will again be held over the Martin Luther King weekend, Friday to Monday, January 14-17, 2022. Individual members from the clubs in our Area have traditionally provided this simple, yet integral service for the RYLA delegates.
Here's how to get involved:
1. Contact noel.j.desousa.gmail.com@clubrunner.email indicating that you would like to serve and your day and time preference. Having your own pickup or LARGE SUV is recommended, but we have a couple available for you to drive if needed.
2. Register as a volunteer at RYLA 5495pinerock.org You will be required to upload a picture of yourself in the registration form and a copy of your Covid vaccination card within the Health form. An email acknowledging your successful registration will immediately be sent to you.
3. Within a few days you will receive an additional email asking that you fill out a background check form. This is required for all RYLA volunteers every year. Among other information, you will need to fill in your Social Security number on the form.
Thank you for providing this service to our Rotary community and our RYLA delegates.

In Remembrance of Tony Shaw
Written by A.J. Sheridan
It is with a deep sadness that I share with you the passing of a great Rotarian and friend, Tony Shaw. Please keep Tony’s family in your thoughts and prayers. Tony was a long time member of our club. Joined in 1986 and was President '93 - '94. He was always active in our programs and as a Vietnam Veteran he particularly enjoyed being a participant in our Veterans parade floats, speaking at the Veterans Memorial on special occasions and our annual clean ups.
Tony was also active in the community and served on the Board of the Sharlot Hall Museum. Tony was also an avid mountain biker. Most of all he enjoyed his family and particularly his grand kids.
You don't find better people than Tony Shaw. I like to think that on his way this morning, Tony stopped by our meeting.
Rest in Peace Tony Shaw. You have earned it.
