Todd Clancy, our Club's International Service Director, presented a visual documentary of Sunup Rotary's tradition of being a respected district and regional leader in sponsoring International Service Projects. It was obvious he had invested many hours in his research of the club's sponsorship of international projects since its inception, and he credited several veteran Rotarians in the district for providing to him some of the historical photos he included in his program.
A large part of his presentation dealt with understanding how the key Mexico-USA Friendship Conference and Global Grants Exchange works. It is through this annual international projects fair, which was originated by our club's PDG Don Schiller, along with several others, some 25 or more years ago, that many of the projects we have sponsored gained essential partners and financial support from other clubs in Mexico and Arizona, to turning visions of addressing and solving problems into actual accomplishments. This past year's conference was held in Xalapa, Vera Cruz, Mexico. Todd capably represented us there, selecting the projects to which our club would commit the amount of support allocated by our Club Board, and committed our club to being the International Partner on several of those projects. He also visited one of the rainwater harvesting projects we sponsored the previous year, and participated in the initiation of a sister club relationship between our club and one of the Rotary clubs in Xalapa, with whom we have successfully partnered on several TRF Global Grant Projects.
Thank you, Todd, for an amazing and enlightening documentary of our club's leadership in International Service. He pointed out that this year's Mexico-US Friendship Conference & Global Grants Exchange will be held in Yuma, Oct. 30 - Nov. 2. He is hopeful that we will have a good representatioin from our club partcipatiung in this much-closer conference this year. He testifies that it is a Rotary expertience like no other, which he would love to have some of newer members to personally experience.

Lucy Layva was inducted last Tuesday as the newest member of our satellite Preescott Valley Rotary Club. She owns the Maid to Order home cleaning business, and is a former member of the Prescott Valley Town Council. Welcome, Lucy!
Our Steve Sample will be the featured speaker at the PV Rotary Club's next meeting on April 8, speaking about The Veterans Administration Hospital at Fort Whipple.
The Fundraising Committee meets at 5:30 this Monday, March 31, at Touchmark at the Ranch.

In order for our Sunup Rotary Club to be able to continuie to sponsor District Grant and Global Grant Projects, The Rotary Foundation requires at least two of our club members or club leaders to participate in an annual Grants Management Seminar.
