It is always a treat to have Tom Benson back with us for one of our meetings! As a Past President, and current Honorary Member of our Sunup Rotary Club, he has a vast amount of experience and knowledge, from which we can certainly benefit.
At 93 years of age now, our Program Committee invited Tom to share with us his secrets to longevity and his many years of service. In President Russ Davis' article in this issue, he cites Tom's seven principles he believes have contributed to his long and productive life. Thank you, Tom, for your helpful and informative presentation. We appreciate you!
WHO DO YOU KNOW who would appreciate a personal invitation from you to visit one of our club meetings, or to work with you on one of our club's service projects?
The fact is that working with us on a project is many times a more effective way to recruit a new member than getting them to a meeting. If that person is given the opportunity to see and to experience what we are doing to serve others and to meet needs, that tends to be a more attractive and compelling reason to join Rotary, than to attend a meeting. Most people want to help others, and to make a difference. Show a friend how we do that, and how he/she can make the most difference today through Rotary.

Prescott Little League President Robert Boehland receiving our Snack Shack Tips check from Emmett Jones and Pres. Russ Davis
We did well this year in collecting tips for Little League through our Snack Shack serving the players, families and friends at the games. The total for this year's tips came to $569.25. Robert Boehland, the Little League President, thanked our club for the service we provide at their games, and he said our check from the tips collected would be a great help toward some of the improvements the league is making this year.

I was crossing with an 'intellectually challenged' co-worker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.
I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, “What on earth are blind people doing driving?!”

While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'

A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. 'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out. 'What have you got there, dear?' With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's Adam's underwear!'
