5 New Members Inducted for Satellite PV Rotary
Co-President Bob Ticer inducts 5 new members, seen here with their sponsors.

Even though our Wednesday morning meeting was cancelled, due to the ice and snow, our Satellite Prescott Valley Rotary Club did meet on Tuesday evening, inducting five new members to our club, who are committted to our PV Rotary Club.

These new members include Gilbert Davidson, Prescott Valley Town Manager; Jennifer Hardison, Busiiness Banking with OneAZ Credit Union; Anne Keenan, self-employed Property Manager; Gary Murphy, retired business owner, and Kendall Day Schumacher, PV City Council Member, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway, and owner of Day 2 Day Bookkeeping Service.  WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!

Together wth Co-Presidents Bob Ticer annd Joe Sweeney, that makes 7 new members for our satelllite club.  As Christy notes in her article, 7 more member applications have been submitted.  The goal is for this club to officially charter as its own, independent Prescott Valley Rotary Club when they reach 25 members, and they have their own leadership structure in place. Until then, our Prescott-Sunup Rotary Club will be providing the support structure for the new club, and we will be handling the necessary reporting to Rotary International and the Internal Revenue Service.  We have needed a Rotary Club in Prescott Valley for a long time, and it is exciting to see this new club growing so rapidly!  We encourage you to bring with you, as your guest, any prospective members you may know who live in Prescott Valley, Dewey or Humboldt, to the next meeting at the PV Elks Club on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 4:30 p.m.

A guy spots a sign outside a house that reads “Talking Dog for Sale.” Intrigued, he walks in.
“So what have you done with your life?” he asks the dog.
“I’ve led a very full life,” says the dog. “I lived in the Alps rescuing avalanche victims. Then I served my country in Iraq. And now I spend my days reading to the residents of a retirement home.”
The guy is flabbergasted. He asks the dog’s owner,
“Why on earth would you want to get rid of an incredible dog like that?”
The owner replies, “Because he’s a liar! He never did any of that!

More doggy humor:

What’s the best way to stop your dog from barking in the front yard?
Put him in the backyard.

Why did the poor dog chase his own tail?
He was trying to make both ends meet!

What's a dog's favorite mode of transportation?
A waggin'!

What kind of dog never throws anything away?
A hoarder collie.

The secret to life is to handle every situation like a dog.
If you can’t play with it, eat it or bury it, just pee on it and walk away!

The Prez Says
Christy Manning

Thank you all for your understanding regarding the last-minute cancellation of last week’s Rotary meeting.  It was a tough call, but with freezing temperatures and the likelihood of icy roads, I wanted to prioritize everyone’s safety.

Despite the weather, there’s exciting news to share!  The Prescott Valley Rotary Club held its second meeting last week, where they inducted five new members.  Even more promising, seven additional applications were submitted, reinforcing the strong interest and need for a Rotary club in Prescott Valley.

A special thank you to Bob and Art from our club for their dedication and support in launching this new club.  Having our Rotary Club spearhead the creation of the Prescott Valley Rotary Club is a significant achievement.  It reflects our commitment to expanding Rotary’s reach, fostering leadership, and serving more communities.  By mentoring and supporting this new club, we are strengthening Rotary’s mission of service above self and ensuring that more individuals have the opportunity to engage in meaningful community service and fellowship.

This is a proud moment for all of us and I look forward to seeing the impact the Prescott Valley club will have.  Thank you all for being part of this journey!
