SURPRISE!! In a recount of the People's Choice votes, submitted during this year's 2nd Annual Sunup Rotary Chili Cook-Off, it was discovered that there was actually a tie between Touchmark and Texas Roadhouse. President Russ and Past-President Christy are pictured above with the winningTouchmark Chili Chef.
Emmett Jones is seen here with the representatives from Texas Roadhouse, who tied with Touchmark for the People's Choice First Place Award.
Doc's BBQ & Whiskey received the First Place Award from our distinguished Panel of Judges.
It took many hands to make this year's Sunup Rotary Chili Cook-off a success. Pictured above are some of the Rotarians, along with some of the Prescott High Interact members who helped with the serving and assisting of the diners.
A check for $360 was presented to the Bradshaw Mountain High School Basketball Boosters forn their assistance in selling tickets for the Chili Cook-Off. A number of them also came to assist with the event, as needed.
This is not just the Vision Statement of Rotary International — it is also our shared vision, as individual members of Prescott-Sunup Rotary Club.

The conceptual design of Rotary's 2027 Rose Parade Float
Several months ago, DG Joe Sweeney and Linda presented an interesting program for our club, sharing their personal experiences of having worked on helping to finish the constriuction of two different Rotary Floats for the New Year's Day Rose Parade in Pasadena. This will be Rotary's 47th year that we have had a float in this parade, and it has become one of Rotary's most visible worldwide images. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of spectators who view our float along the parade route, more than 28 million television viewers are also watching each year.
The amazing fact is that none of these Rotary Rose Parade Floats has ever been paid for by Rotary or Rotary Foundation funds. They have always been funded each year by Rotarians who hav believed in the importance of having a Rotary Float in this epic parade. If you would like to donate to help cover the expenses of this year's float, here is the link to use to make your contribution: www.rotaryfloat.org/donate.
I got confused by all the yard signs…
And I think I may have voted for a Realtor.

A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley, when he spotted a world-famous heart surgeon in his shop. The heart surgeon was waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike. The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc can I ask you a question?" The famous surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I also can open hearts, take valves out, fix 'em, put in new parts and when I finish this will work just like a new one. So how come I get a pittance and you get the really big money, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic..... "Try doing it with the engine running!

Thanks to all those that gave time, money and support for that important fundraiser/community service effort. Special thanks to Emmett and Tiffany for making significant improvements in the space and manning the booth every week! The profit is being counted, should have some good news for the club in the next week or two.
Hope to see you in person or virtually on Wednesday!
