Interact Ambassadors to Mexico Victoria Arias and Lilly Hellman Interact Ambasssador to Kenya Isabelle Brown One of Sunup Rotary's largest investments each year is in our Interact District's Ambassadors Program. Our $5,000 helped to send our 4th team to Central Mexico, and our 8th team to Kenya this summer. We look forward each year when representatives of the current Ambassadors teams can come to our meeting to report on what they experienced and accomplished. Presenting to our club were Mexico Team representatives Victoria Arias, from Prescott High School, and Lilly Hellman, from Bradshaw Mountain High School. Our Kenya Team representative was Isabelle Brown, from Prescott High School. All three were impressive speakers, who told of their interactions with children in schools, as they delivered school supplies they had taken with them, and how they even taught some classes. In addition, they described some of the unique and impactful work each team accomplished to help "enable the disabled" poor in these countries. Our interact district's motto is "enabling the disabled," which is the goal of the Interact Crutches 4 Africa and Ambassadors Program. Our district is the only one in the world offering this international level of Interact leadership training.. Unfortunately, technical problems hampered these Ambassadors, when the microphones kept cutting-out, until they had to be abandoned. In addition, for some still unexplainable reason, our club's laptop was unable to access any of the pictures in Isabelle's PowerPoint, which she had worked so many houirs to create and share with us. However, to their credit,. these girls didn't let these communication challenges phase them. They delivered their messages as planned, and we were proud of them! Club Member Attendance & Privileges Marsha and Harlan Teller with the Club President of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club in Michigan One of the most enjoyable aspects of being a Rotarian is the fellowship we share at every meeting of our Prescott-Sunup Rotary Club. If we can't make a meeting, we feel something is missing from our week — that lost opportunity to spend time with our friends, and to be able to fully share in all of the good things our club is accomplishing. One of the greatest privileges every Rotarian has is the opportunity to visit other Rotary clubs — anywhere in the world — and to be warmly welcomed as a member of the Rotary Family. That is really an awesome privilege! When you are planning to travel, find out when and where a Rotary Club is meeting in a city you will be visiting, and take the time to attend that meeting. You will likely find that experience to be one of the highlights of your trip! In the photo above, our club members, Marsha and Harlan Teller, are visiting the Rotary Club in Mount Pleasant, MI; and they are doing it right. You will note that the Club President is holding one of our Prescott-Sunup club banners, which they took with them to exchange with any Rotary Clubs they visited. Before you leave on your trip, check with Pres. Jane Anne to get a club banner or two for you to take with you — and prepare for a Rotary adventure you won't regret — and may never forget..
