Irrepressable Sandy Updates Club on Contractors Association
Parshalla Wood, Sandy Griffis, Vicki Mickel and Christy Manning display copies of the 2026-27 issue if "Building Yavapai," the annual magazine published by the Yavapai County Contractors Association

Sandy Griffis, the Executive Director of the Yavapai County Contractors Association, is definitely a "one-of-a-kind" individual.  As it has been said, "When Sandy Griffis enters a room, you know she is there. She is fun, colorful, exuberant, and yet very serious and supportive of the membership of the YCCA, and the industry they represent."  YCCA has proudly been serving the communities of Yavapai County for more than 50 years.  However, under Sandy's 15-year leadership, she has managed to triple the membership to more than 300 professionals. She has been recognized for her leadership, community engagement, and dedication to supporting YCCA’s mission of promoting licensed contractors, improving jobsite safety, and strengthening dialogue between contractors, owners, and government.

Bringing with her copies of the association's impressive annual magazine, Sandy assured us that construction in Yavapai County continues to go well, and that the contractors association has never been stronger.  However, she had much to say about the perils of hiring unlicensed contractors, who are not bonded, and who are inadequately insured, if they have insurance at all. She is definitely "out to get them," and to put them out of business before they can victimize and harm any more vulnerable and unsuspecting county residents.

As we begin a new Rotary year under new Club Leadership, may we always remember that this is the Code of Conduct which each of us should strive to exemplify.
