Steve Bracety Relishing New PV Chamber Role

It was a pleasure to have Steve Bracety, the new President and CEO of the Prescot Valley Chamber of Commerce, as our speaker last week. Having been a longtime member of the Prescott-Frontier Rotary Club, now that he is directing the PV Chamber, Steve recently elected to move his membership over to our new satellite Prescott Valley Rotary Club, making him officially now "one of us." For many years, Steve headed up the Prescott Resort & Conference Center, where some of our most successful Rotary District Conferences have been held.  He is excited about the challenges and opportunities he sees in the future for the PV Chamber.

The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce is the “go-to” organization for businesses and business information. They have a business support strategy that offers programs, products and services for a variety of business needs. Their mission is to develop, promote and preserve the general business and community interests served by the organization.

Prescott-Sunup is a great Rotary club. respected for our strong traditions of Youth Service and International Service,  However, we are also very actively involved with many Community Service projects every year.  We believe we have something for everyone.  However, not all club members are equally connected and involved. If you have questions about how our club functions, where you might more actively serve, or if have suggestions on how we can do anything better, please talk with our club officers and directors.  They are eager to work with you to make your Sunup Rotary experience the very best it can be.

YOUTH SERVICE

APRIL 16, between 4:00 - 6:00 pm., you can enjoy some great barbecue on the patio at the Colt Grill in downtown Prescott.  You will be supporting our Prescott High School Interact Club as they raise funds to send three of their members as Interact Ambassadors to Mexico and Kenya this summer.  However, to enjoy the planned barbecue buffet, you must purchase a $20 meal ticket in advance at this week's Rotary meeting from Art or the Interactors who will be at the meeting.  Please prepare to bring cash, since they are unable to accept checks or credit cards for this fundraiser.

Our PHS Interact is inviting our club members, on Friday, April 25, at 2:30 pm. to help dedicate the new Peace Pole they have erected in the Food Forest on their campus, with the financial help of the Prescott-Frontier Rotary Club.  The Food Forest is located in the alley on the west side of the school.  Please park in the student parking lot on the northwest side, near the portable buildings, and enter through the alley gate.  Cathleen Cherry, the PHS Interact Faculty Advisor says, "We'll have some picnic snacks and dedicate the beautiful Peace Pole.  Can't wait to see you there!"

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

WE NEED to have at least two of our members each year attend one of the Grants Management Seminars, in order for us to continue to sponsor Rotary Foundation District and Global Grants Projects.  The last one this year is being offered online this Thursday, April 10, at 5:30 pm.  Here is the Zoom link you can use to attend this seminar:

A diner in a restaurant started to choke on a bone.  Another diner rushed over and performed the Heimlich Maneuver. The bone popped out.
As the first man's breath and voice returned he said, "You saved my life! How can I ever repay you?"
The other man grinned and said, "I'll settle for one percent of what you were willing to pay while you were choking."

Spring is here and our club is buzzing with activity...just the way we like it!

First off, a big thanks to everyone who's been helping out at the Snack Shack for Little League Baseball. It's in full swing and a great way to show our Rotary presence in the community. If you haven’t signed up yet, please check the calendar and grab a shift, your time and smiles make a difference.

Coming up, we’ve got the Granite Creek Cleanup as part of Rotary Week of Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join forces with the other three clubs in our area and make a big impact together. Sign-up sheets will be passed around at Wednesday’s meeting. Let’s show up strong.

Also, don’t forget that we’re ramping up for our big Family Fun Fest fundraiser! We’re still looking for sponsors, raffle items, and most importantly, help spreading the word. Share the event with friends, family, and neighbors.  Let’s make this our best one yet!

Thanks for all you do, Rotarians. Our club thrives because of your energy, commitment, and service.

See you bright and early on Wednesday!
