Sunup Captivated by YES Vision

Amanda Voss. the Founder and Director of YES (Yavapai Exploration and Science of Prescott) shared with us the vision of this educational community service nonprofit oganization.  She said: "Our vision at Yavapai Exploration and Science is to cultivate a society where curiosity is celebrated, critical thinking is encouraged, and innovation thrives."  They do that through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and immersive educational programs, YES inspires young minds to explore, discover, and protect the wonders of our natural world.  The organization has a major event planned for May 10 at Granite Creek Park, here in Prescott.  See below:

Qualifing Sunup to use Rotary Foundation Grants

At least two members of a club must attend a grants management seminar in order for a Rotary club to be eligible for a district grant in 2025-26.  This is an annual requirement.   Utilization of District Grants and Global Grants helps us to leverage our service projects dollars, enabling us to do far more that we could ever afford to do on our own.

District 5495 is holding two Grants Management Seminars in March -- one in person and one virtual meeting:

Saturday, March 15 -- 9-11 a.m., GESD System of Care Campus Library, 7677 W. Bethany Home Road, Glendale, 85303. Pre-registration is not required. Be sure to bring your own coffee or drink as there will be no refreshments on site.

Wednesday, March 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Join us online for a comprehensive session on grant management. Learn about the ins and outs of applying for grants, managing funds, and reporting requirements. We will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. This training is a requirement for clubs' eligibility to apply for a district or global grant in Rotary Year 2025-26. Register now and secure your spot!

BE SURE TO IDENTIFY YOUR CLUB WHEN COMPLETING YOUR REGISTRATION

Register for the zoom session by CLICKING HERE.

There is no cost to register and participate in one of these Grant Management Seminars.  We believe the more members we have each year who attend one of these seminars, to learm how the utilization of these grants works,.the stronger Rotary club we will have.

The closest I get to a spa day
Is when steam from the dishwasher smacks me in the face,

You come from dust and you will return to dust.
That’s why I don’t dust.
It could be someone I know.

Sometimes I sit and wonder why I’m not in a mental asylum.
And then I take a good look around at everyone,
And realize . . . maybe I am.

Last year I joined a support group for antisocial people.
We haven’t met yet.

Spring is here, and that means baseball season is in full swing!  Our Snack Shack planning is well underway, and I want to extend my gratitude to all who have been helping with the preparations and cleanup.  Your dedication ensures that we are ready to serve our community once again.

The Snack Shack is more than just a concession stand-it’s a community service project.  By providing affordable food and refreshments, we help families enjoy their time at the ballpark while supporting their teams.  It’s a great way to give back, connect with our neighbors, and show what Rotary is all about.

This year, we’re also proud to sponsor a team!  Stay tuned for more details on how we can rally behind them and show our support.  Let’s make this season one to remember!

Thank you for all you do.  See you on Wednesday!
