It was a time for great celebration, as the four Rotary Clubs of Greater Prescott came together last Friday night, May 29, to celebrate the charter of our newest addition — the Prescott Valley Rotary Club.
It was especially a banner night for our Prescott-Sunup Rotary Club, which had been responsible for sponsoring this new club — first as our Sunup PV Satellite Club, before it could reach the size and strength to become its own independent Rotary Club. The incredible fact is that we accomplished this unprecedented fete in only 9 months! Yes, let the significance of that sink in: It is unprecedented. No other Rotary Club in Arizona has ever done this before we did it! For years, it had been discussed and recognized that a Rotary Club was needed in Prescott Valley, but nothing had ever happened — until our club's leadership decided to finally make it happen, using the Satellite Club method. The leadership of PV Police Chief Bob Ticer and DGE Joe Sweeney was key to the rapid success of this bold venture.
A happy and proud group of our Sunupians were there to congratulate the new club, and to share in the celebration.
PDG Art Harrington, representing Sunup Rotary, along with Prescott-Frontier Club President Linda Sweeney, and PDG Kevin Pitts, representing Prescott Rotary, jointly presented a Rotary Bell, along with a gavel and a custom bell-carrying wooden case. to PV Rotary Club President Zack Caldwell.
The Rotary Bell and gavel were a gift from our Prescott-Sunup Rotary Club. The bell's wooden base and carrying case, specially crafted for PV Rotary by Ed Koeneman, Past President of the Mesa West Rotary Club, was a joint gift from the Prescott and Prescott-Frontier Rotary Clubs.
DGE Joe Sweeney and PV Police Chief Bob Ticer hold a banner which notes the year in which each of the four Greater Prescott Rotary Clubs were chartered. Standing behind the banner are Linda Sweeney, Art Harrington, Zack Caldwell, Kevin Pitts and Katheryn Tuberty.

CLUB SERVICE
President Elect Russ Davis presented his Club Board, Club Budget and Club Goals at last Wednesday's meeting. After some discussion about each, all three were unanimously approved by the club. We wish Russ and Michelle safe and happy international travels, as they begin their long-awaited vacation, after Col. Russ's 34 years of dedicated service to our country in the United States Air Force.
Congratulations to Director Steve Sample on the recent five-star "Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating Report" received by the Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System! This is a huge achievement!! We are very proud of you, Steve!

John Stewart, our All-Vets Memorial Project Chair, wants to know if anyone has any information about the identity of the donor of this beautiful floral wreath, which is placed on our All-Vets Memorial every Memorial Day.
